Regardless of the crisis facing the car manufacturer Opel, dealers are extremely satisfied with their brand. This is the result of a recent study.

The Opel crisis has so far hardly affected the relationship between the car manufacturer and its dealers. Opel dealerships were rather among the most satisfied sales partners among car sellers, according to a study published on Wednesday by the Bamberg Research Center for the Automotive Industry (FAW). "Despite the crisis and the threat of Opel insolvency, Opel has even managed to increase dealer satisfaction," reported FAW manager Wolfgang Meinig. Despite the gloomy prospects for the future, Opel is apparently taking care of "human interaction in the dealer network," he emphasized.

More satisfied than colleagues from VW

Opel sales partners are far more satisfied with their manufacturer than dealers of the brands VW, Ford, Toyota or Peugeot, according to the study. The dealers are convinced that Opel produces the second best new cars. Opel vehicles were also characterized by the best “new vehicle delivery condition” of all 25 makes. The most satisfied dealers are still those of the Subaru brand, the least satisfied those of the Mazda brand. Mazda was also relegated of the year, followed by the Saab brand, reported the FAW.

According to Meinig, however, the upward trend observed in the previous year for the Smart brand has continued. The brand moved up from tenth to third in terms of dealer satisfaction. According to Meinig, dealers rewarded the company's improved dealer contracts. «In times of crisis in particular, the authorized dealers reward a clear design of the future.
