A car with air conditioning has a higher value retention than a vehicle without. According to a survey of car dealers, it is this equipment detail that has a major impact on the resale value.
Air conditioning systems should be a guarantee for a high resale value of cars. Other equipment features such as xenon lights and navigation systems, on the other hand, have a significantly lower impact on the stability of the value of a car. This is the result of a survey of 223 car dealers by the mobile.de portal. Accordingly, nine out of ten dealers believe that the air conditioning has the greatest effect on the resale value of a compact class car like the VW Golf compared to other equipment features.
Navi dispensable investment
On the other hand, only four percent of dealers consider a navigation system to be a good investment in terms of a stable vehicle value; when it comes to xenon light, the figure is three percent. Less than two percent of those surveyed see aluminum rims and leather upholstery as a way of maintaining value stability.
The majority of dealers are of the opinion that at least half of their customers pay attention to equipment features when buying a new car, which contribute to the value retention of the vehicle. 30 percent think that half of car buyers are interested. Almost 16 percent of the survey participants asked three quarters of the customers about it and around 15 percent asked all customers. Only seven percent state that prospective buyers do not have an eye on the resale value at all. (mid)
