According to a survey by "Autoscout24", 40 percent of all women and 24 percent of all men name their vehicle, almost a third of them with a popular nickname such as "Baby", "Schnucki" or "mein Dicker". "Baby" is the most common nickname and is preferred by men. Ten percent of the namesake prefer a woman's name like "Susi" and "Emma" for their car, six percent refer to their vehicle with a male first name like "Hugo" or "Helmut".
Eleven percent name the car after the brand like my "VW" or the model name like my "Golf" and eight percent name the car with derogatory terms like "scrap truck", "Olle Dreckschleuder" or "ugly duckling ". (mid)
