The VW subsidiary Skoda has to recall 237 Superb vehicles to the workshops worldwide. A fire can occur due to an incorrectly screwed ground wire on a heating element.
The Czech car manufacturer Skoda has to order 237 vehicles of its Superb limousine with diesel engine to the workshops worldwide. 67 vehicles across Germany are affected, as a spokesman for the Autogazette said on Tuesday.
Vehicle fire possible
Vehicles from the production period from July 16, 2008 to February 25, 2009 are affected by the recall campaign. Only cars without auxiliary heating are affected by the recall campaign. With the affected superbs, there is a possibility that the ground wire of the heating element of the auxiliary heater was not screwed on properly. In the worst case, this can lead to a vehicle fire.
The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) in Flensburg has already been informed about the recall. The VW subsidiary has set up a service hotline on 01805-5809 for owners of such vehicles. The repair takes 30 minutes. There are no costs for the vehicle owner. (AG)
