The heart of the brand in its latest version will soon be in Leipzig. The AMI at the end of March is the best opportunity for the German public to make initial contact at close range.
The E-Class will celebrate its public premiere at the Geneva Motor Show at the beginning of March, before it will also be presented to the German public a few weeks later at the AMI Motor Show in Leipzig (March 28 to April 5). Also in March, the new generation of models - recognizable, among other things, by the angular reinterpretation of the four-eye face - will be available at German Mercedes dealers from 41,590 euros.
Focus on security
Safety is at the center of the new E-Class. The preventive safety system Pre-Safe and a new type of drowsiness sensor are designed to prevent accidents in advance; Assistance systems for high beam and blind spot monitoring are optionally available. The four-door model also has an active bonnet as standard, which is raised slightly in the event of a collision with a pedestrian, thus reducing the risk of serious injury.
Fuel saving technology
For the engine range classified according to Euro 5, Mercedes promises a consumption reduction of up to 23 percent compared to the predecessor. The most economical drive is the new four-cylinder diesel, which is available in three output levels and should get by with 5.3 liters of fuel per 100 kilometers. An automatic start-stop system is initially reserved for the 1.8-liter turbo gasoline engine in the E 200 CGI with 135 kW / 184 PS; an average consumption of 6.8 liters is given here. (mid)
