The German vehicles are not only in demand on their home market. VDA President Matthias Wissmann therefore sees more than just good future opportunities for German car manufacturers.
Around one in five new cars sold worldwide this year will be built by a German manufacturer. This is what the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) assumes. With an expected global passenger car market of 65 million units, the domestic carmakers would have sales of around 13 million vehicles - and the trend is rising: "We are assuming that German manufacturers will continue to gain weight due to their quality and innovative strength there is some evidence that this will be the decade of the Germans, "said VDA President Matthias Wissmann of the magazine" Automotive News Europe ".
20 percent market share in China and Brazil
In Germany, the German automobile manufacturers have an estimated market share of 70 percent. In the USA, the car market share in the first half of the year was a good eleven percent. It is true that there is an unmistakable tendency among German automobile manufacturers to relocate production abroad. The best example of this is the recent expansion of the US BMW-Werks Spartanburg, where the mid-range SUV X3 is exclusively built and exported all over the world. Nevertheless, almost every second of the 11.6 million "German" cars produced last year were also manufactured in Germany.
