At the IAA at the end of September, the supplier Johnson Controls wants to prove that there are still reserves in the car seat. It could be much more flexible in the front and rear seats.
The automotive supplier Johnson Controls wants to present a special car seat concept at the upcoming IAA at the end of September, as the company announces. The driver's seat is mounted on rails that are curved in height and can be electrically adjusted, making conventional seat adjustments superfluous. In addition, the seat is equipped with a control console attached directly to the seat structure, which moves with the driver and is not fixed between the seats. In addition, the console offers the option of wireless charging of mobile devices.
On long rails
The passenger seat of the demonstrator, known as the SD15, is attached to particularly long rails so that the seat can be moved directly in front of the dashboard and stowed there, or moved far back to make it easier to load the vehicle from the side.
A rail system is also used in the second row. The aim is to convert the rear seat bench from a four-seater to a five-seater with a simple movement. (AG)
