The Czech car manufacturer Skoda will also set a new sales record this year. "This year we will build 530,000 to 540,000 cars," said Skoda CEO Detlef Wittig in an interview with Autonews24.
Ten percent growth
“For 2006 we are aiming for growth of ten percent. Compared to industry, that's not bad,”says Wittig. With a view to Germany, the most important sales market for the VW subsidiary, Wittig still sees growth potential. After Skoda was able to sell more than 100,000 vehicles in Germany in the past year, Wittig assumes that this limit will be "clearly exceeded" in 2006.
“We currently have a market share of over three percent and the order situation is very positive, so that we will expand our market share in 2006 too. I expect a market share of around 3.5 percent,”said the Skoda boss. Skoda has set itself great goals for the future. Wittig expects one million vehicles to be sold around the world by 2015 if business goes well.
Must have visions
«We have to have visions of where it could go. But I can't say today that we will sell a million cars worldwide in 2015. But if, based on our previous growth figures, we lay the ruler and draw a line that could be in 2015, then such a number would come out,”says Wittig. “But it is well known that trees do not grow into the sky, and certainly not in a straight line. You can also expect someone to hit the hat every six or seven years, then it goes down again. But we haven't got anything on our hats in the past few years. Therefore, the production of a million Skodas could not be a utopia,”he added.
China, where Skoda will be present at the beginning of next year, is playing an important role in the company's growth plans. “We are aiming high in China. We have decided not only to bring the Octavia, but also the Fabia and the Superb to the Chinese market,”says Wittig. “In November we will present the Roomster and the Yeti study at the Beijing Motor Show for testing purposes, to see how people react to it. We estimate that we can sell 60, 80, even 100,000 cars. And that's a lot for us."
BMW has already almost achieved its target for the year. And thanks to the high demand in China and the USA, there should be new ones in the coming year
After the record sales of the previous year, Audi also achieved a new record in sales. It rose to 53.8 billion euros. The VW subsidiary also wants in 2015
BMW Motorrad wants to surpass the last record year. Despite a good October, Munich is still just behind the results of the previous year
Premium also sells in times of crisis. The four German premium manufacturers, BMW, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche have had that in the past year
In China, Daimler is still lagging behind the two German premium competitors. The gap has narrowed this year despite weaker growth
