New Mazda6 At The IAA

Mazda shows the second generation of the Mazda6 at the International Motor Show. Like its predecessor, the completely redesigned model should stand for a special link.

Mazda presents the second generation of the Mazda6 five years after its market launch. The completely redesigned mid-range model will celebrate its world premiere at the 62nd International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt / Main from September 13 to 23.

Optimized driving performance

However, the new six will initially only be offered as a sedan. Only later would a hatchback version and a station wagon be available. When it comes to propulsion, the Japanese initially rely on the well-known gasoline and diesel engines, before new engines, which should enable more power with less consumption, will fuel the Mazda6 in 2008.

Furthermore, the driving dynamics and driving performance have been optimized. Mazda describes the design as sporty: it is characterized by heavily modeled fenders, a striking radiator grille, a “muscular” bonnet and sharp headlights. The company has not yet announced any details on dimensions, technology and equipment.

"Kizuna" adds to "Zoom-Zoom"

While the first generation was the founder of Mazda's well-known “zoom-zoom” concept, which according to Mazda stood for pure joy in movement, the new model is intended to strengthen the emotional connection between man and machine. Mazda calls this idea, which was already introduced in the new Mazda2, "Kizuna". The motto “Zoom-Zoom” will continue to accompany the Mazda models. (AG)
