Corsa Replaces Polo

The German car bestseller list recorded two leadership changes in June. They took place in the fast-growing segment of small cars and sports cars.

According to information from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), the Opel Corsa has ousted the VW Polo from the throne of small cars with 11,392 units sold. In the sports car segment, the Mercedes-Benz SLK overtook the BMW Z4 with 1,350 units, making it to the top of the sales charts.

Dominator: VW Golf

The other bestsellers from the previous month were able to defend their rank. In the Minis, the Fiat Panda still ranks first with 6,136 units. The constant compact class Primus VW Golf is ahead of its competitors with 44,280 sales. The best-selling middle class is the VW Passat with 9,919 units, while the Mercedes E-Class remains at the top of the upper middle class with 6,222 units. The most successful upper grader is the BMW 7 Series with 749 vehicles delivered.

B-Class in front in mini vans

The VW Tiguan remains the most popular off-road vehicle with 5,458 units. Most of the mini-van buyers were won over by the Mercedes B-Class, which was handed over to customers 4,329 times in June. The ranking of the larger vans is led by the VW Touran with 7,735 new registrations, while the VW Caddy has established itself at the top of the utilities with 7,520 sales. The top seller among the basic motorhome vehicles is the Fiat Ducato with 1,080 units. (mid)
