Saab 9-X BioHybrid Best Concept Car

The Saab 9-X BioHybrid was voted the best concept vehicle at the Geneva Motor Show. Now it remains to be seen how quickly the vision will become reality.

At the Geneva Motor Show, the Saab 9-X BioHybrid was voted the best concept vehicle at the trade fair by the American trade magazine AutoWeek. "We are very pleased that our work has been recognized with this prestigious award," said Anthony Lo, General Motors Europe Director of Design. "The 9-X BioHybrid is our vision of what a future Saab compact vehicle could look like".

1.4 liter turbo engine

The 9-X BioHybrid is equipped with a 1.4 liter turbo engine that generates 147 kW / 200 hp when refueling with bio-ethanol E85. In combination with the latest generation of the hybrid system, the 9-X BioHybrid spits out only 105 grams of C02 per kilometer. According to the manufacturer, the average consumption should be 4.9 liters.

However, there is no official statement from Saab as to whether the 9-X BioHybrids will actually be built. But that should only be a matter of form. Because the compact class segment is too important for Saab to not be represented there in the medium term. In the past year the Swedes were able to sell 125,000 cars worldwide. (AG)
