The Spanish carmaker will launch its Sharan MPV at the beginning of next month. The van is 1,500 euros cheaper than its identical sister model, the VW Sharan.

Seat brings the new Alhambra to dealers on October 2nd. According to the Spanish manufacturer, the MPV costs at least 27,500 euros. The van is almost 1500 euros cheaper than its technically identical sister model, the VW Sharan. Nevertheless, seven airbags, ESP and air conditioning are also standard with Seat.

Alhambra also with sliding and folding doors

Like the market leader from Wolfsburg, the Alhambra, which has grown by 22 centimeters to 4.85 meters, has sliding doors instead of folding doors. On request, the car is available with two rows of seats that can be folded up and completely lowered into the floor of the car. In addition, the seats in the second row can be moved up to 16 centimeters. This creates a variable load space that has a minimum of 267 and a maximum of 2430 liters.

The engines are initially a 110 kW / 150 PS petrol engine with 1.4 liters displacement and two diesels with 2.0 liters displacement and 103 kW / 140 PS or 125 kW / 170 PS. While the gasoline engine is only available with a six-speed gearshift, the two diesels can also be ordered with an automatic dual clutch. A variant with all-wheel drive will follow next year.

All models have an automatic start-stop system and brake energy recovery on board. The consumption of the Alhambra is between 5.5 and 7.2 liters, depending on the engine and transmission combination, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 143 to 167 g / km.
