The Ford Focus RS says goodbye to the market with more power. For the now 350 hp, customers have to dig deep into their pockets - but that doesn't bother them. The vehicles reserved for Germany have been sold.
The last 500 copies of the Ford Focus RS get more power and a special design. The price for the sports model now called RS 500 will rise by around 10,000 to 46,050 euros, the manufacturer announced on the weekend in Mayschoss. That doesn't seem to bother customers much: The 55 cars reserved for Germany have already been sold, long before the market launch in the course of the summer.
Fine-tuning the turbocharger
For the finale, the engineers increased the output of the 2.5-liter five-cylinder, among other things by fine-tuning the turbocharger by around 15 percent to 257 kW / 350 PS. Controlled by a six-speed gearbox, the Focus RS 500 accelerates to 100 km / h in 5.6 seconds and reaches 265 km / h. The consumption increases at the same time by half a liter and is now 9.9 liters. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 235 g / km.
In order to make the strongest Focus of all time stand out, Ford has changed the design with simple means: Inside the Focus RS 500 has leather-padded bucket seats, red brake calipers peek out from the black 19-inch rims, and the RS wears on the outside 500 matt black lacquer. There is also a badge on the center console with the serial number - 001 to 500 - engraved on it. (dpa / tmn)
