Mitsubishi is now also launching the Lancer as the "Evolution X" sports model. The sedan already shown as a study will initially go into series production in Japan, the manufacturer announced in Tokyo. The export should start next year. Mitsubishi did not provide any information about prices for Germany.
All-wheel drive and double clutch
The sports version of the mid-range sedan is powered by a two-liter four-cylinder, which, with the help of a turbocharger, develops a torque of 442 Newton meters (Nm). According to a German Mitsubishi spokesman, it has an output of 206 kW / 280 PS, the export version is even supposed to achieve 213 kW / 290 PS. However, there is still no information on consumption.
According to Mitsubishi, the power in the evolution variants of the Lancers is transmitted via all-wheel drive. The option of a six-speed transmission with dual clutch is also new, according to Mitsubishi. Externally, the rear spoiler on the trunk lid of the car is also eye-catching. (dpa)
