Honda Celebrates Three Premieres In Leipzig

Honda celebrates three premieres at the AMI in Leipzig. A wide range is covered, from sportiness to innovative environmental concepts.

Honda is presenting three new models at Auto Mobil International (AMI) in Leipzig from April 14th to 22nd. In addition to the “Small Hybrid Sports Concept” design study, the Civic model family is also being expanded to include the Type S sports coupé. The Formula 1 Earth Car is also celebrating its debut in Germany with its unique paint scheme in the form of a worldview.

Honda has expanded its stand to 1,800 square meters to present the innovations. The “Small Hybrid Sports Concept”, which had its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show, combines the latest hybrid technology with the driving characteristics of a sports car. The small hybrid concept vehicle was developed as a design study by Honda R&D Europe in Offenbach, Germany. With it, Honda shows the potential of future hybrid vehicles using a concept that has been deliberately kept extreme.

The Civic Type S, on the other hand, completes the Civic family after the Civic, the environmentally friendly Civic Hybrid and the Civic Type R sports car. The three-door coupé has stately side skirts, a 20 mm wider track and 17-inch wheels. The doors, the rear side panels and the front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned. Either the 1.8 i-VTEC petrol engine or the 2.2 i-CTDi diesel engine serve as the drive source.

Formula 1 racer as a globe

The RA107 Formula 1 racing car of the Honda Racing F1 team makes a lot of impression. Instead of the sponsors' advertising stickers and logos, the racing car is provided with a large image of the earth, which is intended to encourage people to take a committed approach to solving environmental problems.
