After the VW Up, Seat now also has its small car in its range. At the Wolfsburg-based Spanish subsidiary, the little one is called Mii and only looks different from the car of the parent company.

With the Seat Mii, the family of small cars in the VW Group is complete. After

the VW Up and Skoda Citygo, the Seat Mii is the last member to be presented.

Outwardly, it differs from its brothers in that it has an independent face with large headlights and a larger rear side window. Like the other two, it is a compact city car with space for four people. According to Seat, it should specifically address the young and young-at-heart customers. Technically, he is in no way different from his family members. The Spaniards only want to emphasize the youthful character of the city flea for the Mii. There are a total of three equipment versions for this: Mii, Mii Reference and Mii Style.

Seat Mii also with three-cylinder

The basic equipment of the Mii includes an adjustable steering column, foldable rear seat, ESP as well as front and side airbags. The Reference also has a luggage compartment cover and rear headrests. It is somewhat incomprehensible that the headrests are not available in the basic version. The Style includes electric windows, central locking, exterior mirrors and door handles painted in the vehicle color. These lines and extras will continue to grow. In the future, Seat will focus heavily on individualization.

A 1-liter three-cylinder engine with two power potentials of 44 kW / 60 PS and 55 kW / 75 PS is available for the Mii.

The differences in performance are generated by the electronics. But even with the 44 kW / 60 PS engine, the Mii, which is shifted via a five-speed gearbox, is quite agile. It accelerates to 100 km / h in 14.4 seconds, which, however, requires precise timing when overtaking on country roads.

The top speed of 160 km / h is absolutely sufficient to be able to swim in traffic without any problems even on cross-country trips. The circuit works exactly and smoothly. The damping is designed in such a way that more comfortable driving is the order of the day. A standard ESP should always keep the Mii safely on track in all versions.

Sufficient space in the interior

The interior offers enough space for the front passengers. The instruments are clearly arranged and all switches and controls are well positioned. The impression of value in the interior is slightly below that of the VW up. Two adults can sit comfortably on the back seat. The trunk compartment holds 251 liters, but with a larger suitcase it is quickly overwhelmed and the backrests have to be folded down.

While sales of the Mii are now starting in Spain, customers in Germany have to wait until April / May 2012 before they can get the little Spaniard delivered. Overall, the Spaniards want to sell around 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles in Europe in 2012.

The starting price for Germany has not yet been set, but should be around three to five percent below the VW up when the equipment is adjusted. The basic version will probably be available for just under 9,000 euros. But these versions are almost never sold. A price of around 9,400 for a reasonably equipped version is realistic. (mid)
