That was very fast. Porsche has been selling the Macan since April - the first vehicles now have to get back on the road.
Because of problems with the brake booster, the sports car manufacturer Porsche calls 2500 SUVs of his new Macan back to the workshop. Internal tests showed that the amplifiers were occasionally damaged during assembly in the initial phase, Porsche announced in Stuttgart on Wednesday. The result: Affected customers may have to step harder when braking than with a fully functional aid. A spokesman emphasized that the reduced function still complies with the legal requirements.
Second Porsche recall this year
According to him, around a quarter of the 2500 vehicles in Germany are affected by the recall. In fact, it is expected that the problem occurred in less than one percent of the vehicles. The Macan has been on sale in Europe and the Middle East since the beginning of April. In the USA, the model will be launched in June.
After a fire, Porsche recently had to recall two of the 785 sports cars of the new 911 GT3. The cause of the engine fires at that time was a loosened screw connection on an engine part. The model has been on the market in Germany since August 2013. In this country, the sports car costs at least 137,000 euros. (dpa)
