The Ingolstadt car manufacturer Audi is presenting the RS Q3 concept vehicle at Auto China. The compact SUV is powered by a powerful five-cylinder engine with 360 hp.

Audi will present the RS Q3 concept at Auto China in Beijing next week. The compact SUV from the Ingolstadt-based company is on the road with a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine with 360 hp. In combination with the body, which is 2.5 centimeters lower and wider, the potential of the Q3 series should be explored anew, as Audi announced on Wednesday.

The performance of the RS Q3 concept, equipped with a seven-speed S-tronic, is definitely impressive: it accelerates to 100 km / h in 5.2 seconds and its top speed is 265 km / h. The Q3 has all-wheel drive so that the power is confidently brought to the road.

Series production of the Audi Q3 RS still questionable

So that not only the internal performance values are correct, the Q3 has also undergone changes in its appearance. In this concept vehicle, for example, a frame made of brushed and polished aluminum surrounds the radiator grille. Since the honeycombs are slightly offset from one another, a three-dimensionality should be created.

The headlights on this Q3 are slightly darkened, and the bumpers have been modified compared to the familiar production model. As with the front spoiler, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the exterior mirrors. The interior is dominated by the color black, with dark blue Alcantara acting as a contrasting element on the seat covers. The contrasting color blue is also used for the CFRP decorative panels. Thanks to a large glass roof, there is plenty of light inside. With the rev counter, Audi went into the country of presentation - the numbers are in Chinese characters.

It is not yet clear whether the car will find its way into series production. A similarly interpreted Q3 RS model would be possible, however, that would surpass the previous top model, the 2.0 TFSI with 155kW / 211 PS at prices from 36,800 euros. (AG)
