The ADAC subjected 28 child seats to an extensive test - with pleasing results. 18 seats received a “good”. In addition, pollution decreased.
The "Recaro Privia & Recaro Fix" baby seat was rated “very good” in the ADAC's large child seat test. The seat, which is suitable for children up to approx. 13 kilograms (approx. 0 - 1.5 years), impressed not only with its weight, but above all with its very good safety values, as the ADAC announced on Thursday. The testers were also impressed by the operation, ergonomics and the absence of harmful substances on this seat. "Anyone who is allowed to install an Isofix base for a baby seat in their car is very well advised to do so," says the automobile club.
In the current test, 18 out of 28 child seats were rated “good” - so the ADAC testers can recommend at least one seat for every age group. The following seats were rated “good” in this weight class: Bebé Confort Pebble & 2way Fix, Concord Airsafe, Concord Airsafe & Airfix, Cybex Aton, Cybex Aton Q & Aton Q Base-fix, Besafe iZi Go X1, Besafe iZi Go X1 Isofix, Kiddy Evolution Pro 2 & Isofix-Base 2, Kiddy Evolution Pro 2, Recaro Privia and Bébé Confort Pebble.
I-size seat tested for the first time
The ADAC assessed as positive that the pollution levels of the seats had decreased significantly. 23 products in this category received the grade "very good". The “ABC Design Risus & Risus Isofix Base” seat is at the lower end of the scale. It received the grade "unsatisfactory" because, from the testers' point of view, it failed to meet the safety requirements in the frontal and side impact tests.
The Concord Ultimax.2 and the Römer Max-Fix 2 reach children up to approx. 18 kg (approx. 0-4 years) and the Chicco seats for children with approx. 9-18 kg (approx. 1-4 years) Oasys 1 Isofix, Migo Saturn & Solar and Migo Saturn received the overall grade "good". In the 15 to 36 kilogram class (approx. 4-12 years) the Römer Kidfix XP impressed with "good". For the first time, the ADAC also included a so-called "i-Size seat", which was approved according to the new EU standard ECE-R129, in the test: the "Maxi Cosi 2way Pearl & 2way Fix" received the test rating "good".
