New car buyers still need to be patient. Although the waiting times for the new mobile have decreased slightly, some manufacturers also have to accept ten months.
The production lines are currently running at full speed in German automobile plants. As a result, the average delivery times from June to July have fallen by 0.2 months to 3.6 months. This development will continue, as some manufacturers have announced shorter factory holidays for August.
Have patience with SUVs
But not all new car buyers get their dream car as quickly as they would like. With Suzuki and Hyundai as well as VW, the buyers have to be patient for more than five months until the new "Blechle" is in front of the house. According to the Center Automotive Research at the University of Duisburg-Essen, the shortest delivery times are at Honda, where a customer receives his new car just 1.1 months after placing the order.
SUV buyers have to wait the longest for their vehicle to be delivered. The waiting time for a VW Tiguan is 7.1 months, for the Hyundai ix35 even 10 months and for the Audi Q5 7.0 months. (mid)
