Aston Martin brings out the Virage to coincide with the Geneva Motor Show. The sports car can be ordered as a coupe or a convertible.
Aston Martin is surprising with a new sports car at this year's Geneva Motor Show (March 3rd to 13th). The discreetly packaged Virage is intended as a convertible and a coupé to complete the brand's GT series and close the gap between the two luxury gliders DBS and the DB9.
The exterior design of the new athlete is characterized by British understatement. The front section is adorned with an oval aluminum radiator grille with five beveled horizontal struts. The bi-xenon headlights that taper towards the front and are embedded in the body extend into the side of the vehicle. Over the long bonnet, which merges into a flat windshield, two V-shaped beads run towards the winged brand logo. From the height of the driver's seats, the roof drops significantly towards the rear. Two tailpipes and distinctive LED headlights are characteristic of the rear end.
Luxurious interior
The occupants enter the luxurious interior through the open swan-wing doors. They pivot upwards at an angle of 12 degrees. The new model is available both as a pure two-seater and as a 2 + 2-seater. The ten-way adjustable sports seats are designed to provide extra support and comfort, while the standard seat heating ensures cozy warmth. The predominant material is naturally hand-sewn leather,
with polished real wood and dashboard displays made of milled aluminum. The controls are made of cut glass.
It is powerful under the bonnet: a twelve-cylinder front mid-engine generates an impressive 365 kW / 497 hp from a displacement of 6.0 liters. It allows top speeds of 297 km / h. A six-speed automatic called Touchtronic II developed by ZF is used for power transmission. The driver selects the desired drive level using a switch. Leather-covered paddles behind the steering wheel allow manual gear changes. Those who like it particularly dynamic press the "Sport" button on the dashboard: the gears are now shifted faster, while the system delays the automatic gear change.
Ceramic brakes save weight

Carbon-ceramic brake discs are responsible for the deceleration, which in addition to a weight saving of 12.5 kilograms compared to cast-iron brakes also respond better to pressure point and controllability. A newly developed adaptive damping system with five different hardness settings irons unevenness in the road surface to a greater or lesser extent, depending on your needs. The anti-skid ESP adapts to the needs of the driver, depending on the setting, it intervenes sooner or later.
The new Coupé Aston Martin Virage and the convertible version Virage Volante can now be ordered through the brand's worldwide dealer network. However, the British luxury brand is still silent about the prices, they
will only be announced at the Geneva Salon. (Mid)
