Drivers of diesel vehicles had to dig deep into their pockets in November. According to ADAC surveys, the price during the year has never been as high as this month.

The suffering of owners of a diesel vehicle was particularly tested in November. As the ADAC announced on Thursday, more had to be paid in November than in any other month of the year before.

According to the ADAC survey, the monthly average price for a liter of diesel rose to 1.453 euros. That is the high in the first eleven months of the year. In contrast, the price of gasoline fell. According to the automobile club, a liter of Super E10 cost 1.506 euros in November. This means that the monthly average price difference between the two varieties fell to 5.3 cents.

New highs for fuel prices

With a view to the daily average price, diesel drivers were hit particularly hard, they had to accept an annual high. For example, the price of diesel on November 18, at 1.499 euros, only just passed the pain threshold of 1.50 euros. As the ADAC determined, the monthly high price for Super E10 on November 11th was 1.545 euros. On November 28th, you could fill up at a particularly affordable price. The liter of Super E10 averaged 1.458 euros, the liter of diesel cost 1.409 euros.

As a result, both varieties are heading for new highs with a view to the annual balance sheet. For example, Super E10 has cost 1.524 euros so far this year, around 12 cents more than in 2010. The difference is even clearer for diesel: After eleven months, the preliminary annual average price is 1.410 euros, almost 20 cents above the 2010 price. At that time, 1.214 euros per liter had to be paid. (AG)
