Audi's sales are picking up speed. In June, the VW subsidiary was able to increase its sales figures by over seven percent compared to the same month last year. The A4 and Q7 in particular are generating high demand.
Audi is getting better and faster again. The sales of the VW upper class subsidiary rose in June by 7.4 percent to 169,000 cars. Demand grew particularly in the European market - the new mid-range A4 model and the new Q7 luxury SUV provided a strong boost, as Audi announced in Ingolstadt on Monday.
China is booming
Sales in Europe increased by almost 10 percent to around 79,000 cars last month. In China, too, sales rose faster than in the spring. In the People's Republic, the compact A3 and Q3 models were in particular demand; in June sales rose by 6.6 percent to 51,000 vehicles. In the USA, the VW subsidiary was able to score with SUVs and grew by 1 percent at a low level.
In the first half of the year, Audi sold 953,000 cars worldwide, an increase of 5.6 percent. Head of Sales Dietmar Voggenreiter said that in the coming months, the offer will be further strengthened with the Q2, among other things. Audi is also hoping for a tailwind from the upcoming launch of the revised A3 and the new A5 on the European market in autumn. (AG / dpa)
