The compact SUV Tiguan from Volkswagen is getting new entry-level engines. The basic diesel will in future be equipped with 110 hp, the entry-level petrol engine with 122 hp.
New entry-level engines and equipment options will be available for the compact SUV VW Tiguan from the beginning of June. The basic diesel is then a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 81 kW / 110 hp, which is only offered in conjunction with front-wheel drive. The price list starts at 26,050 euros. A 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo engine with 90 kW / 122 hp is used as the new entry-level petrol engine, which can also only be combined with front-wheel drive and costs from 24 175 euros. A manual six-speed gearbox provides power transmission as standard.
Seven-speed DSG on offer
Also from June, a seven-speed dual clutch transmission will replace all previously offered automatic variants. A keyless entry and start system is also included in the list of options. In addition, the new Tiguan Freestyle special model will be available from June, which comes with light alloy wheels, parking sensors and fog lights, among other things. The price list starts at 24,925 euros for the version with the new entry-level petrol engine. The manufacturer specifies the price advantage over buying the extras individually at 1,610 euros. (mid)
