Peugeot brings the 308 in a third body variant. After the sedan and station wagon, there is also a convertible coupe, which will be shown to the public for the first time in October.

Peugeot builds the 308 again as a convertible coupé. The third body variant of the Golf competitor after the sedan and station wagon will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show (October 4th to 19th), announced the French manufacturer at the German headquarters in Saarbrücken. The market launch in Germany is planned for the beginning of 2009. Prices were not mentioned.

For the first time with neck heating

Like the previous generation, the new 308 CC also has a retractable steel roof that spans four seats. According to the manufacturer, the trunk holds 403 liters with the roof closed and 226 liters in the convertible configuration. There are also automatically deployable roll bars and new airbags designed to protect the occupants' flanks and heads alike. Another new feature is the “Airwave” neck heater in the headrests of the front seats, which is intended to extend the convertible season.

There are initially two motors to choose from to drive the 308 CC. The convertible coupé will start with a two-liter diesel with an output of 103 kW / 140 hp. A 1.6 liter gasoline direct injection engine with turbocharger followed shortly afterwards, with an output of 110 kW / 150 PS. (dpa / gms)
