Suzuki fills the model range. At the IAA, the Kizashi study will give a foretaste of entry into the middle class segment.

The car manufacturer Suzuki is on the way to becoming a "full-range supplier" and is planning a first model in the middle class. At the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt / Main, the company is showing the Kizashi study (in German: prelude or foretaste), which is intended to provide an outlook on the future Japanese flagship. From 2010 onwards, the series version will come onto the market as a “design-oriented touring limousine”, announced the company in Bensheim, Hesse. Suzuki has not yet given any information on the drive and dimensions of the study.

Splash celebrates its world premiere

Long before the Kizashi, the second new product from the Japanese, which will be shown at the trade fair (September 13th to 23rd), comes onto the market: the Splash. The successor to the Wagon R + shares the technology with the second generation of the Opel Agila and will be sold from spring.

According to the company, the four-door model is available in a larger format with two petrol engines with 48 kW / 65 PS and 63 kW / 86 PS and a diesel with 55 kW / 75 PS. The CO2 emissions of the units in connection with a five-speed manual transmission should be between 120 and 140 grams per kilometer. The company has not yet announced prices. (dpa)
