15 years of waiting are over. The new edition of the VW Sharan celebrates its German premiere at the AMI in Leipzig. Another van from Wolfsburg is also making its debut.
The van class is celebrating a comeback this spring: Mazda is renewing the Mazda5, Ford is modifying the Galaxy and S-Max, and after 15 years, VW is sending the first Sharan generation to retirement. The new edition is celebrating its German premiere at Auto Mobil International from April 10th to 18th. At the same time the van rolls to the dealer.
Easy access to the rear
The distinguishing feature of the new Sharan generation are the two sliding doors, which allow easier access to the rear. Inside, the space glider is optionally equipped with five, six or seven seats, which can be easily lowered into the vehicle floor with the new "Easy Fold" seating concept.
Options include adaptive chassis control DCC, level control, a panoramic sliding roof and three-zone automatic air conditioning. Prices start at 28,875 euros for the 1.4-liter TSI petrol engine with 110 kW / 150 PS. In addition, a 2.0-liter diesel with 103 kW / 140 PS will initially be offered. More engines and an all-wheel drive variant will follow later. The revised compact van VW Touran will also be unveiled parallel to the premiere of the MPV. (mid)
