Six weeks after the scrappage bonus has expired, the waiting list for newcomers has also been exhausted. As the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (Bafa) announced on Wednesday, the additional waiting list for 15,000 additional applicants is now full.
No reservations
«The online reservation portal at www.ump.bafa.de was therefore switched off. No further reservations can be accepted, »said the Bafa. The 15,000 followers receive the 2,500 euro state environmental bonus if earlier applications are legally rejected or not used by the car buyers. The waiting list was set up after many rewards became available due to incorrect application documents.
The scrapping bonus for car buyers who scrap their more than nine-year-old car and buy a new car expired on September 2nd. The state funding pot totaled five billion euros. The federal government thus subsidized the purchase of around two million new and annual vehicles. The premium gave the German car market a strong boost in the global crisis. Small car manufacturers and dealers in particular benefited from the state-stimulated demand. (dpa)
