Toyota is offering its Hilux pick-up with two new diesel units. The engines meet the strict Euro IV standard.

The Japanese car maker Toyota is expanding the range of engines for its Hilux pick-up at the end of the year. The customer can then choose between a 3.0-liter turbo diesel with 126 kW / 171 hp and a maximum torque of 343 Newton meters and a 2.5-liter turbodiesel with 88 kW / 120 hp (325 Nm). Both engines meet the Euro IV emissions standard.

Slight modifications

As the company announced in Cologne on Wednesday, the latest generation of the Toyota Hilux, which has been built over 12 million times, differs from the model built so far by slight optical modifications and an air scoop on the bonnet. The engine of the Hilux 3.0 D-4D with a four-speed automatic ensures a top speed of 175 km / h. A manual five-speed gearbox is also available. Here the top speed is 170 km / h. The Hilux 3.0 D-4D is only available with a double cab and permanent all-wheel drive.

The basic model of the Toyota pickup range remains the Hilux 2.5 D-4D, which is optionally available with rear-wheel drive or permanent all-wheel drive. It is still available in three body versions: as a single cab with two seats for customers with increased transport needs, as a two-door extra cab with two rear emergency seats or in the comfortable double cab version with a four-door double cab and five seats.

The 2.5 liter D-4D engine with rear-wheel drive has a top speed of 165 km / h, in the all-wheel drive version it is 155 km / h. On average, the Hilux 2.5 D-4D needs between 7.4 and 8.3 liters of diesel, depending on the model. The Extra Cab will be available from November 4th for a starting price of 24,360 euros. The remaining versions will be available from January 13th. The single-cab version costs from 19,720 euros at the current VAT rate and the double cab from 25,984 euros. The 3.0-liter Hilux is only available in the double-cab version for 30,044 euros.
