With the Astra 1.3 CDTI EcoFlex, Opel is now launching its compact model with a consumption of just 4.1 liters per 100 kilometers. This corresponds to CO2 emissions of 109 grams. As a fuel-saving model, the Astra sprints to 100 km / h in 14.5 seconds and has a top speed of 175 km / h.

In addition to the classic fuel-saving measures such as tires with optimized rolling resistance or a gearshift point indicator, the Astra has an active air control element integrated into the radiator grille, known by Opel as the Aeroshutter, to improve aerodynamics. At low speeds, the aero shutter ensures a healthy engine climate, while at increasing speed the slats close automatically to guide the airflow around the car. The price for the Opel Astra 1.3 CDTI EcoFlex is 19,300 euros.

With the Astra, Opel is continuing its strategy of more efficient vehicles. The low-CO2 models in the Rüsselsheim-based portfolio include the Corsa EcoFlex with CO2 emissions of 98 grams and the Insignia with 136 grams of CO2 per kilometer. As a spokesman for the Autogazette said, the share of EcoFlex models in the sales in the portfolio is around 40 percent. (AG / FM)
