Renault shows a negative balance after six months. Despite weak markets, the French want to turn the trend in the second half of the year.
Renault was unable to compensate for the performance on the weak European market. Despite a sales record outside Europe with 646,274 sales, the French manufacturer recorded 1.3 million units sold worldwide after six months, a decrease of 1.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
Renault's world market share almost unchanged
As the manufacturer announced, the global market share of the group with the brands Renault, Dacia and Renault Samsung Motors remained almost unchanged at 3.2 percent. In the previous year it was 3.3 percent.
The French do not expect any improvement on the European market in the second half of the year either. Renault expects a further decline of five percent here and even eight percent for the French market. Despite the conditions, the trend is to be reversed at the end of the year.
Renault expects growth
"The Renault Group has largely renewed its product range, which is now paying off in sales markets worldwide. Thanks to the expanded production capacities and our attractive model range, we expect an increase in sales for the year as a whole compared to 2012", says Renault's Vice President Jérôme Stoll.
