The price of 1.53 per liter of premium gasoline in Germany does not deter travelers from vacationing. Despite the record high, the way to German petrol pumps can still be worthwhile, announced the ADAC. A liter of super costs 1.69 euros in the Netherlands, but diesel is four cents cheaper than in Germany.
Hungary cheapest
The cheapest premium fuel is available in Hungary (1.16 euros). Germany is not the front runner in diesel either (1.50 euros): Italy, for example, estimates it at 1.58 euros. The price difference to the traditionally cheaper Austria has narrowed somewhat. A liter of super there costs an average of 1.34 euros, diesel 1.38 euros. Especially travelers to Italy should pay attention to this and fill their tanks again before crossing the border.
However, the ADAC recommends not to drive to petrol stations near the border in order to avoid long waiting times. Diesel is cheapest in Spain at 1.04 euros. (AG)
