The German insurance industry is warning against taking drugs with a new website. Young road users in particular are to be addressed.

Young road users in particular often underestimate the effects of drugs. With the website www.dont-drug-and-drive.de, the Association of the German Insurance Industry in Berlin wants to provide targeted information to young people and young adults about the consequences of drug consumption in traffic.

Effects of Individual Drugs

The side explains the effects of individual drugs. For example, it can be learned that distances can no longer be assessed correctly after cannabis use and that it leads to motor disorders. The process of drug controls is also made clear and the criminal and financial consequences of drug use in road traffic are pointed out.

The consequences that road users can expect when drug use is discovered are clearly explained using case studies. If, for example, an accident is caused under the influence of drugs, a driving ban of six months to five years and seven points in Flensburg can be expected. A conviction can also result in a heavy fine or imprisonment of up to five years.
