The Kia Venga was given high honors. The recently launched compact MPV has been awarded the top-class “red dot award”.

Kia has again secured the "red dot award". After the Soul was awarded the top-class design prize last year, the jury this year awarded the recently launched Venga in the product design category. It is already the second award for the compact MPV. The Venga, penned by Kia chief designer Peter Schreyer, had already received the renowned "iF product design award".

Mixture of everyday life and design

"Our design teams can be really proud of this further 'red dot award'. It underlines the success of our design strategy", says Kia chief designer Peter Schreyer. The former Volkswagen designer believes the Venga will create a change in the segment. "Compact MPVs are usually vehicles that are bought for practical reasons. The Kia Venga will change that. Its balanced vehicle architecture, the airy feeling of space and its dynamic silhouette prove that style and practical utility can be successfully combined. The Kia Venga is popular be seen."

The "red dot award: product design" is one of the largest design competitions in the world and has been organized by the Design Center North Rhine-Westphalia since 1955. This year, manufacturers from 57 countries with a total of 4252 products applied for the award. The "red dot award" is also given in the categories "communication design" and "design concept". (AG)
