Opel is now also closing the supply gap for comfortable touring sedans with a robust outdoor look. In September, the Insignia Country Tourer celebrates its world premiere at the IAA in Frankfurt. He is committed to the typical features of this crossover niche: indicated underrun protection at the front and rear, distinctive front, side and wheelhouse panels as well as two exhaust pipes and two centimeters more ground clearance.
In addition, there is an all-wheel drive and several turbo engines to choose from. The range includes a 2.0 SIDI direct injection petrol engine with 184 kW / 250 PS or the 2.0 BiTurbo CDTI with a maximum torque of 400 Nm each.
Insignia Country Tourer is flexible
The 4x4 drive works with a Haldex clutch and an electronic limited-slip differential. The system varies the torque distribution continuously between the front and rear axles and between the two rear wheels. With optimal road conditions, the 4x4 system is reduced to driving the front wheels.
The manufacturer is still silent about the costs and equipment details. They are to be announced at the IAA in September. (AG)
