This coming weekend, most motorists will have free travel on German autobahns. A weekend later it will look different.

The German autobahns will be largely free of traffic jams on the weekend of March 20-22. The ADAC does not anticipate major disruptions; disruptions can only occur on trips to and from the ski areas. That is why it could get a bit crowded on the following routes:

• A 1 Dortmund - Bremen - Hamburg

• A 3 Nuremberg - Würzburg - Frankfurt

• A 5 Basel - Karlsruhe - Frankfurt

• A 6 Kaiserslautern - Mannheim - Heilbronn - Nuremberg

• A 7 Füssen / Reutte - Würzburg - Hanover - Hamburg

• A 8 Salzburg - Munich - Stuttgart - Karlsruhe

• A 9 Munich - Nuremberg - Berlin

• A 93 Kufstein - Inntaldreieck

• A 95 / B 2 Munich - Garmisch-Partenkirchen

• A 99 Munich bypass

In the neighboring countries, too, only the mountain routes will be frequented more frequently. Here, too - as in Germany - it will get busier on the weekend afterwards, when the first Easter holidays begin.

To start the journey into the weekend in a relaxed manner, click on the traffic jam indicator on the Autogazette before starting the journey, which updates every five minutes and shows the traffic jams on German highways. (AG)
