Rolls-Royce will be launching a new entry-level model from autumn. The luxury vehicle called Ghost has a V12 turbo engine.
The twelve-cylinder turbo gasoline engine in the new Rolls-Royce Ghost has an impressive 429 kW / 570 hp. The newly developed 6.6-liter engine accelerates the luxury brand's entry-level model, which will be available from autumn, from standstill to 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km / h. The power transmission is handled by the new eight-speed automatic from the German supplier ZF.
Little brother of the Phantom
As the little brother of the Phantom, the Rolls-Royce Ghost is intended to open up new customer groups for the BMW subsidiary. With a European net price of EUR 192,000 excluding taxes and delivery charges, however, solvent buyers are still more likely to be in view. The final price in Germany is around 230,000 euros.
There is a 5.40 meter long luxury limousine in the brand's slightly modernized classy look. Technically, the Ghost is based in part on the luxury BMW 7 Series sedan. There are no official pictures yet; the series version presented at the IAA in Frankfurt (September 17th to 27th) should, however, be strongly based on the concept study 200 EX. (mid)
