For the market launch of the new Bravo, Fiat has two diesel units and only one petrol engine on offer. The Italian manufacturer plans to add further variants in the near future.

Fiat starts selling the new Bravo. The successor to the Stilo will cost 15,400 euros in the basic version, the Italian automaker announced in Frankfurt. There is a five-door model that is 4.34 meters longer than its predecessor and has a wheelbase of 2.60 meters. The basic model is powered by a 1.4 liter gasoline engine with 66 kW / 90 PS and 128 Newton meters of torque. The engine accelerates to 100 kilometers per hour (km / h) in 12.5 seconds and reaches a maximum of 179 km / h. Fiat specifies consumption at 6.7 liters, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 155 grams per kilometer (g / km).

Two diesel units as an alternative

In addition, there are two diesels at the start for at least 19,000 euros, which draw 88 kW / 120 PS or 110 kW / 150 PS from a displacement of 1.9 liters and are equipped with particle filters. They do the sprint in 10.5 and 9.0 seconds, reach 194 and 209 km / h and consume 5.3 or 5.6 liters. That corresponds to 139 and 146 g / km in CO2 emissions.

Fiat plans to offer two more petrol engines shortly, with a small displacement and a turbocharger to enable high performance with low consumption. The 1.4-liter is available with 88 kW / 120 PS and 110 kW / 150 PS. (dpa)
