The fourth generation of the Renault Clio was launched recently. This seals the end of the previous entry-level Campus model.

Renault is retiring the Clio Campus. With the introduction of the fourth generation of the small car, a new entry-level model based on the discarded third generation will be offered. Instead of the Clio Campus, the base is now called the Clio Collection and - like the Campus - is available from 9990 euros for the three-door model. The five-door car costs a thousand more.

Renault Clio Collection needs 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers

The Clio Collection is powered by the 1.2 liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 55 kW / 75 PS, which should be content with 5.6 liters per 100 kilometers, which corresponds to CO2 emissions of 130 grams per kilometer.

Equipped with a maximum torque of 107 Newton meters and a manual five-speed gearshift, 100 km / h are reached in 13.4 seconds. Renault specifies the maximum speed at 167 km / h.

Renault Clio with five stars at EuroNCAP

Also on board as standard are air conditioning with a pollen filter, a CD radio with MP3 function, electric windows at the front, central locking and speed-dependent electric power steering.

The Clio is also safe to use as a collection. Up to eight airbags and ESP, which was not on board on the predecessor Campus, as well as other safety features meant that the Clio received the highest rating of five stars in the EuroNCAP crash test. (AG)
