Porsche drives three innovations to the Los Angeles Motorshow. The Zuffenhausen-based company is keeping a special secret about the new Cayman variant.

A particularly sporty version of the Cayman from Porsche is celebrating its world premiere at the "Los Angeles Auto Show" (November 19-28). The exact name of the mid-engine sports car will be announced shortly beforehand. A new edition of the Cayman, first launched in 2005 and subtly revised in 2009, and the S version are expected to be presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011.

USA premiere for Speedster and Carrera GTS

In addition to the performance-enhanced Cayman version, the new Porsche 911 versions Speedster and Carrera GTS, which were unveiled at the Paris Motor Show at the beginning of October, will also be shown in LA. With the 300 kW / 408 PS GTS, the Carrera series is getting a new top model. For the first time, the rear-wheel drive is combined with the wide Carrera 4 body of the all-wheel drive models. With an average of 10.2 liters per 100 kilometers, it should not consume more fuel than the Carrera S. The CO2 emissions would be 240 grams per kilometer.

The Speedster is definitely worth a look. It will rarely be seen on the streets as production is limited to a small series of 356 copies. The 3.8-liter six-cylinder boxer with an output of 300 kW / 408 hp serves as the power source. The Speedster is delivered exclusively with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK), which can reduce the sprint time from zero to 100 km / h down to 4.4 seconds. According to the manufacturer, the average consumption is 10.3 liters per 100 kilometers and emits 242 grams of CO2 per kilometer. (mid)
