The new Toyota Auris will hit the market early next year. In addition to a hybrid version, the compact is also being offered as a station wagon for the first time.
The new Toyota Auris expected for the beginning of 2013 will also be offered in a hybrid version from the start. About four months later, in May 2013, a station wagon version of the compact comes on the market. So far, Toyota had done without such a model, although some manufacturers in this class sell up to 50 percent of their vehicles in this body variant. A petrol / electric motor version will also be available for the Auris Kombi when it goes on sale. As with the current Auris Hybrid, the average consumption of the hybrid variants should be around 3.8 liters per 100 kilometers or even slightly less.
Toyota Auris also visually refreshed
Visually, the previously inconspicuous to staid Auris will take a big step forward. On the outside, the Japanese should increase noticeably in the interior, especially in terms of material quality and processing. The prices for the new model have not yet been determined, but are unlikely to rise in the common gasoline, diesel and hybrid versions in view of the tough competition. The basic version of the Auris with a 1.3-liter petrol engine (73 kW / 99 PS) currently costs from 16,650 euros in Germany. The current Auris Hybrid starts at 23,300 euros. (SP-X)
