The owner of the shop may ask for around 220 euros before a towing company commissioned by him announces the location of the car. That was decided by the Berlin Superior Court, according to a statement on Friday. The judges confirmed a judgment of the regional court.
Driver search costs
The vehicle owner had sued against the procedure because, in her opinion, the required amount of money was significantly excessive compared to the towing costs of the police and the holding back of the car was not justified. The judges did not follow the arguments in both instances. The property owner, in this case the owner of the supermarket, should not only consider towing costs but also the search for a driver or the preservation of evidence in his claims. Both judgments are not final.
