Anyone who is toying with buying a new car can be happy. According to the current CAR Discount Index, the discounts have decreased slightly, but they are still at a high level.

The German car market continues to be driven by discounts. As can be seen from the current CAR Discount Index, the price discounts decreased slightly in July, but they are still at a high level. The customer advantage for the manufacturers' special campaigns in the previous month was 11.4 percent, 1.1 percent less than in June.

Saving at internet retailers

At Internet dealers, new car buyers were able to save 19.5 percent on the 30 best-selling models. The fact that the German car market is still not really picking up speed is also shown by the number of vehicle registrations: in July it was 28.4 percent, 2.2 percent more than in June.

According to the scientists, the highest internet discounts were in July for the Opel Corsa 1.2 Selection (36.7 percent), the Ford Focus 1.6 Ti-VCT Ambiente (33.8 percent) and the Skoda Fabia 1.2 Active (33.6 percent). Even a premium model like the BMW X1 sDrive 18i could be obtained online at a discount of 18.5 percent. New models of the Opel Corsa and Skoda Fabia will be launched at the end of the year. (AG)
