The VW Group was able to deliver more than five million vehicles to customers worldwide for the first time in the first seven months of the year. As the company announced on Friday in Wolfsburg, a total of 5.19 million were sold. This corresponds to growth of 9.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year. In the month of July, the growth for Europe's largest car manufacturer was even higher. With 734,600 vehicles sold, an increase of 10.3 percent was achieved.
VW Group Sales Director Christian Klingler was satisfied with the figures presented. “Overall we got off to a good start in the second half of the year and were able to grow in almost all regions, especially in Asia, North America and Russia. In contrast, the situation in Western Europe remains clearly tense, where our brands developed better than the overall market in a difficult environment."
