The car maker Suzuki is benefiting from strong foreign sales and the country's monetary policy. The Japanese were able to increase sales by a fifth from April to September.
The Japanese small car specialist Suzuki Motor earned more in the first half of the business year thanks to strong demand outside of Japan. The foreign sales increased in the months of April to September by more than a fifth, as the company announced on Friday. Here the automaker also benefited from the monetary policy of the Japanese central bank. The central bankers have been depressing the yen for months in order to increase the export opportunities of the domestic economy.
Expected profit of 100 billion yen
The surplus rose in the first half to the end of September by almost a quarter to around 52 billion yen (387 million euros). Revenue increased year-on-year to around 1.4 trillion yen after 1.2 trillion a year ago. For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014, Suzuki expects a net profit of 100 billion yen and sales of 2.8 trillion yen. (dpa)
