The body and interior are perfectly finished - except for fiddly small parts in the center console (such as the slide-in slide for the mobile phone chip card, which is likely to become a highly sought-after replacement part at Porsche). If you disregard such outliers, the materials in the interior make the high-quality impression that you would expect. For the daily odds and ends - from wallet to house keys - there are too few shelves.

Getting in and out is a bit difficult despite the wide-opening doors - it just goes deep down. Another point of criticism: Although the seats are just as versatile as the steering wheel (for a surcharge), they cannot be pushed back enough for taller people. There is now a lot more space in the 911. The seats are excellent, as is the side support they offer. The all-round view is just as passable as the viewing angle through the rearview mirror - with a little practice you can quickly see where the limits are when parking. To be on the safe side: an electronic parking aid is also available for an extra charge (476 euros).

Instruments, switches, levers and buttons are a bit lavish at first glance - but ergonomically and logically arranged. Everything you need to drive is within easy reach. As usual, the easy-to-read gauges are dominated by the large tachometer in the middle. The speedometer next to it indicates the driven speed both by needle and also in digital digits. If there is lightning, there is no longer an excuse - because of inaccurate speedometer needle.

The potential lateral acceleration is enormous - if you still overdo it, the PSM driving stability system gently brings you back to the reality of the laws of physics - unless you overdo it hopelessly. The precise and spontaneously reacting steering provides an additional feeling of security. And of course the powerful decelerating brakes.

The crisp and smooth gearshift, like the engine, is trimmed for high speeds. Although the Cayman pulls through properly even from low engine speeds, it is really fun if you turn the very well-coordinated gears fully. The electronically controlled - and deactivatable - slip control ensures that the rear drive wheels always retain their traction.

As well as the Cayman performs in terms of value retention - in terms of maintenance it is everything, just not cheap. The only fuel that is allowed in the tank is SuperPlus. And of that, an average of just under eleven liters are due per 100 kilometers, even with normal driving. While we're on the subject of money: As usual with Porsche, the list of surcharges is generous. And some of it is just annoying. That bi-xenon headlights, for example, are only available for an extra charge (1032 euros). A few more useful extras from the list: Sports package (2088 euros), Sport Chrono package (742 euros), 5-stage automatic (2575 euros), ceramic brake system (7830 euros), rear window wiper (336 euros), leather upholstery (from 2749 euros), shortened shift travel (557 euros) or rain sensor together with automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors (516 euros).
