The manager of the car manufacturer arrested after the diesel raid at Porsche is released from custody. The Stuttgart district court decided on Monday.
After a good three months, the court suspended the arrest warrant subject to conditions, as a spokeswoman said. The public prosecutor had previously requested that. The manager was arrested after a search operation at Porsche in April and has been in custody since then because of the risk of escape and blackout.
ID and passport must be submitted
According to the public prosecutor's office, one of the conditions is that he must surrender ID and passport and not be allowed to leave the country. In addition, for the time being he is not allowed to contact any other suspects in the Diesel proceedings against Porsche and Audi, nor to witnesses or potential witnesses.
The diesel investigations at Porsche are directed against a total of three suspects. In addition to the imprisoned manager, the judiciary is also targeting an incumbent executive board member of Porsche AG and a former employee. It is about the suspicion of fraud and criminal advertising. The background to this is possible manipulation of the exhaust gas cleaning of diesel cars. Porsche rejects the allegations. (dpa)
