The Qashqai has many qualities under its elegant sheet metal dress. The third row of seats added in the long version +2 is only part of it.

With places 6 and 7, the 4.53 meter long Qashqai (+2) is designed for people with additional transport needs and was therefore also on the rack. Result: 13 centimeters more between the axles, 21 more between the buffers. The strange thing is: this gain turned out to be like a state increase in the tax-free allowance. It mainly benefits those who already had space, less those in the third row, or should we say third class? Behind these seats, which can be completely retracted into the loading floor, there is still a trunk of 130 liters of cargo space, no more than the Smart. With the third row folded, it is a maximum of 550 liters.
With special requirements
Nissan recommends its use by people up to 1.60 meters tall, but fails to refer to their gymnastics requirements. So if you speculate that the additional seats for your mother-in-law will sweeten your stay in the retirement home with one or two excursions, you should test it beforehand. She may still come in. At least our grandma isn't back from the Nissan test car depot after it was handed in.
Sovereign pilot seat

In other words, the Qashqai + 2 is definitely great as an occasional children's birthday carriage. Otherwise, however, the plus mainly benefits the variability of the load space (plus 140 liters) or, because of the rear seat that has long since moved around 24 centimeters, benefits the medium-sized businesses based there. However, if you spend most of your time in front of the wheel, the third row is far away. The driver's seat is a higher-level, sovereign regent's chair that makes everything easy to see and control.
Small turbo lag

When accelerating, the self-igniter sometimes remembers itself from afar by gently nailing it. Every now and then, after a cold start, you wish to stumble through the insufficiently leveled turbo lag or, when driving briskly at the wheel, a little more sporty feedback from the road contact of the tires. But others dream of such worries. Here it is perhaps more important to keep up with the zeitgeist through moderation; for example, to use all-wheel drive in a well-dosed manner. It is certainly not to be despised on a complicated underground.
No more all-wheel drive than necessary
On the other hand, on the daily asphalt, it unnecessarily undermines the federal government's climate targets. The difference between power delivery with four or two wheels in our everyday test was just under a liter. But of course the all-wheel drive can be easily removed using a rotary knob in the center console even while driving or switched on again if necessary, without this initially having to change the driving behavior.
On the go with Euro4

Anyone who considers it to be completely dispensable in city and suburban traffic saves 1,850 euros, and does not have to feel underprivileged. With a good configuration you pay 29,540 euros. The Qashqai, with its long wheelbase and wide track, does not tend to roll, even if the chassis occasionally thuds on unevenness. Anyone who spends the money anyway wins a two-zone automatic air conditioning in addition to the all-wheel drive. However, you will hardly be able to counter-finance the luxury with the new car tax exemption. The diesel is not yet on the road with Euro 4. And with that you can only get past the tax office for a year.
