Nissan looks to the future at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The V-Motion 2.0 Concept not only nudges the new design language, but can also drive fully networked autonomously.
V-Motion 2.0 Concept is the name of a new Nissan study that is celebrating its world premiere at the Detroit Auto Show (until January 22nd). The futuristic Nissan vision is intended to provide an outlook on the future design language of the brand. In addition, the V-Motion is fully networked and also able to drive autonomously.
The sedan, which extends elegantly over a good 4.90 meters with a coupé-like roof, stands out for its large, twisted surfaces and sharp edges. A three-dimensional carved out V-shaped radiator grille that extends over the entire length of the vehicle is characteristic in the front. This central design element is flanked by chic-looking LED headlights. Thanks to the glass roof slowly sloping backwards in a wide arc, the V-Motion sedan looks almost like a hatchback model. A special highlight: If the V-Motion drives with autopilot, this is signaled via the illumination of the radiator grille and rear apron.
Future of Nissan V-Motion unclear
Thanks to the entry doors hinged in opposite directions and the absence of B-pillars, the V-Motion enables a spacious entry into a comfortably designed passenger cell. Here the Nissan study offers two individual seats on two rows of seats, each separated by a continuous center console. The chairs, which are covered with light leather and pepped up with copper accents, form a contrast to the zebra wood, which was laid across a large area in the vehicle floor.
The tidy cockpit has a rectangular steering wheel that allows the driver a clear view of the powerful information display. The digital display extends far over to the passenger side. In addition to driving-related information, this also shows the media offers of the infotainment system.
Whether the V-Motiongives a concrete outlook on the next generation of Altima or Maxima, the Japanese keep to themselves for the time being. Nissan has also not provided any information about a possible drive for the V-Motion. (SP-X)
