Mini launches its most powerful model to date. The John Cooper Works GP will be launched this year in a small series limited to 2000 units. The fastest Mini of all time celebrates its premiere this weekend at the Mini United Festival in Le Castellet, France.
Mini with record drive on the Nürburgring
Exact data for the Mini have not yet been determined, as the little worker has to go through the test program to get it ready for series production. But the 8:23 minutes of set-up runs on the Nürburgring's Nordschleife are more than just impressive. This means that the best time of the predecessor presented in 2006 was undercut by almost 19 seconds.
Motorsport was the inspiration for the drive system, chassis and aerodynamics to give the Mini with its twin-scroll turbo engine the necessary pulling power. The racing chassis keeps the little athlete on track even in extreme situations.
Large front and rear aprons, striking side skirts as well as a model-specific roof spoiler and a newly developed diffuser element at the rear ensure optimal aerodynamics and of course also contribute to the sporty appearance. The BMW subsidiary has not yet announced prices. (AG / TF)
